Bachelor Level - Paid Internship

Our Bachelor Level Internship Program allows you to tailor your experience to help you gain clinical knowledge and hands-on experience. You will acquire a better understanding of how mental health diagnosis presents in various age populations in the school and in-home & community settings.


This opportunity includes paid internship, flexible work schedules, learning how to apply evidence based interventions and ability to grow new programs within your passion and interests. Gain experience by learning how various mental health diagnoses look like in different age populations and expand your knowledge in interventions. 


Responsibilities:

  • The student intern works under the direct supervision of the agency’s qualified site supervisor. All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor
  • Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement 
  • Regularly attend and actively engage in staff meetings
  • Create effective working relationships with colleagues and community partners
  • Communicate and reflect Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally
  • Comply with agency policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program related to Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and other pertinent related fields 
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and collaboration skills preferred
  • Must have at least 30 semester hours/ 45 quarter hours relevant coursework
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements

Master's level - Paid Internship

 Our Master's Level Internship Program allows you to tailor your experience to help you gain clinical knowledge and hands-on experience. We are looking for passionate people who want to make an impact. We are committed to taking a creative and collaborative approach to transform lives.

As a Master's Level Intern, you are offered a paid internship, the opportunity to create your own work schedule, possible career advancement, ability to gain hands on experience using the theories and concepts you have learned through your education.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments
  • Helping clients manage their mental health symptoms by providing therapy and skills to youth, adults, and families
  • Maintain all required documentation
  • Maintain progress towards licensure and follow requirements of supervision as applicable
  • Some travel is required


Requirements:

Clinical Academy Internship

Fernbook Family Center is partnering with Family Service Rochester and Zumbro Valley Health Center to provide a unique internship experience where clinical master level students are offered hands on experience to practice skills in several program modalities and settings across all three agencies. A panel interview with the three agencies is completed and if accepted, a primary host is designated where the majority of your internship hours are completed. The alternative agencies provide opportunities to observe and shadow other program modalities of interest that would not otherwise be available. 

This internship is available for those receiving a degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, and counseling and psychological services. Once you submit this application, it will be sent to all three agencies: Fernbrook Family Center, Family Service Rochester, and Zumbro Valley Health Center.
