Assessments

At a doctor’s office, health concerns are diagnosed before the doctor recommends a course of treatment. The same process applies with mental health services. Our clinicians need to understand the issues, concerns, or problems through a diagnostic assessment before recommending a treatment plan. During the diagnostic assessment, our clinicians collect a comprehensive history including information on development, culture, mental health, physical health, school, work, and other important life areas. Additionally, our clinicians, with permission from each person and/or guardian, may consult with other providers to make the best possible determination. A diagnostic assessment is required prior to beginning therapy, skills, and case management services.

Availability:

Diagnostic assessments are available at all Fernbrook Family Center locations.
