POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN WASECA

school LInked Mental health practitioner

We are looking to add a School Link Mental Health Practitioner to our Waseca location in the Hartley Elementary School. This position will provide individual and group skills training within-in the school site and in the home/community setting when necessary. 


Responsibilities:

· Teach and provide skills training within in-home/community and school setting

· Assist with crisis situations and non-structured times (lunch/recess) throughout the school day as needed

· Collaborate with school systems, care givers, Fernbrook and school staff

· Enable clients to improve basic functioning of daily and community living activities

· Work in collaborations with culturally diverse populations (students and their families) in host schools to increase awareness and identification of mental health issue.

· Create contact notes for individual appointments

· Attend weekly/monthly meetings

Requirements:

· Candidates must qualify as a Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) in one of the following ways:

-one year of coursework in a human service field and 2,000 hours of experience with children and adults with mental health concerns or

-one year of course work in a human service field and related internship/practicum experience or

-a bachelor’s degree in a human service field & related internship placement experience or

-a master’s degree in related field

· Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record

· Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements

Mental health practitioner

School Linked Mental Health Therapist

Start making an impact today as a full-time School Mental Health Therapist. As a School Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to identified individuals and families. These services will occur in the school sites but may also occur in the in home setting when necessary.


As a School Mental Health Therapist, this opportunity includes ongoing training & support provided, receive a $2000 sign on bonus, career advancement, and licensure supervision reimbursement & in-house licensure supervision available.


Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate clinical competence while providing psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and their families
  • Collaborate with school systems, caregivers, outside agencies, and school staff
  • Create effective working relationships with colleagues and community partners
  • Work in collaborations with culturally diverse populations (students and their families) in host schools to increase awareness and identification of mental health issue

Requirements include:

  • Master’s degree in one of the behavioral science fields (social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy)
  • Qualified applicant must be licensed as LMFT, LPCC, LP, LICSW, or eligible to pursue licensure
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements
