Mental Health Practitioner

Requirements include:

Candidates must qualify as a Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) in one of the following ways:

  •  one year of coursework in a human service field and 2,000 hours  of experience with children and adults with mental health concerns or
  •  one year of course work in a human service field and related internship/practicum experience or
  • a bachelor’s degree in a human service field & related internship placement experience or 
  • a master’s degree in related field
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements

School Link Mental Health Therapist

Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist

Responsibilities include:


To  perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform  each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Provide therapy services to children and their families in center base, day-care,      school, and in home/community settings

  • Attend any ECMH meetings including quarterly birth to 5 meetings and team lead      meetings
  • Continue to build and maintain relationships with the community  (i.e. attending IEP      meetings, completing observations for school  per request, support child      care staff in working with our staff and  the clients we serve)
  • Maintain progress towards licensure and follow requirements of supervision as      applicable

Early Childhood Mental Health Practitioner

 

We are currently looking to add a part-time or full-time Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Day treatment and/or ECMH MHP to  practice various behavioral/skill-based interventions with young  children and their caregiver. Settings include working at ECMH Day  Treatment, and may also include in-home/community, and day  care/pre-school setting within Olmsted county.


Little Fern is a day treatment center for 3-5 year old's that is uniquely designed  to improve children’s mental health symptoms through coached play and  daily lessons that focus on enhancing social and emotional skills.


Must meet the following:

  • 18 years old and hold a high school diploma
  • Qualify as a MHP-2
  • Be available Mon-Thurs from 6:30am to noon and/or noon to 5:30pm  hours may      vary depending on how many children are at the day  treatment center).      Currently we have two day treatment programs  running from 8:00am-11am and      1:00pm-4:00pm with prep and transport  before and after day treatment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have a true desire to grow in early childhood/child      development education
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Experience (professionally or personally) with working with children from 3-5 years      old.
  • Knowledge of Day Treatment, Trauma, and Aggressive and Explosive Behaviors
  • Ability to have patience and maintain regulation during room dysregulation
  • Comfortable when keeping children safe when dysregulated

Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Reinforce individual and family skills sessions
  • Prep weekly activities
  • Create a safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environment
  • Pick up clients to bring them to Little Fern and dropping off afterwards
  • Build trusting relationships and develop open lines of  communication with FFC      staff, daycare/school staff,  parents/caregiver, and children, county      workers
  • Enter daily progress notes into an Electronic Medical Record
  • Receive direction from designated mental health practitioner(s)
  • Participate in weekly clinical meetings/clinical supervisors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required


Requirements include:

  • Must have either one of the following to qualify:
  • Master's degree in behavioral science field OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral service field and 2000 hours  working with children under 21 years of age with a mental health  diagnosis OR
  • 6,000 supervised hours working with children under 21 years of age with a mental      health diagnosis
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Have reliable transportation/valid driver's license/vehicle insurance
  • Must be available to work some evenings if seeking full-time hours
  • Strong interpersonal skills preferred
